Hi Gents - Went to go look at the Historical Branch's ONTOS today and it looks really good. The "85% restored"estimate looks pretty accurate - I've attached 4 photos of her and you'll be able to see the external condition. The engine looks very good, though I don't know if anyone's tried to start it. The tracks are off and stacked on a shelf - everything looks clean and rust-free. The 106s are operable and the bores are greased, so she looks serviceable as a fighting machine and there are dozens of dummy rounds available for the display. Couldn't see th spotting rifles, though I'm sure they're somewhere nearby (Quantico has a huge military arms collection and they're probably stored with them) The paint is a little dark compared to what I remember but the interior is painted white and painted well. Those aircraft restorers do a great job! The interior pieces like the seats and the ammunition racks and the firing controls are all over the place and they need to be cleaned up and installed again. The even have an original radio in it... Let me know what we can do.. Semper Fi, Rick Lindsey lindseyf@earthlink.net
